Avery Knight was
founded in 1972, operating from Walcot Street, Bath, United Kingdom, and specialising
in Tools and Fixings for the Building and Allied trades. The business expanded
steadily, mainly upon its reputation for prompt and efficient service.
Early in 1982 came the opportunity to expand further by amalgamation with Bowlers
Engineering Supplies Ltd. This merger was completed by July 1982, with Avery
Knight moving to the larger premises at James Street West, Bath.
Bowlers Engineering Supplies Ltd. began trading in 1970, re-establishing the
business of a very old and respected Company in Corn Street, Bath. Bowlers Engineering
was well known for its wide ranging stocks of steel, non-ferrous metals, wrought
and cast products; also valves, fittings and all kinds of engineering accessories.
The combined resources of the two organisations can now supply a much wider selection
of tools, fastenings, fixings and materials to the Construction, and Engineering
Industries. Avery Knight & Bowlers are also able to provide, from a unique
range of tools chosen by their engineers, for Masons, Carvers, Sculptors and
Allied Professions.
We are able to supply orders of any volume for trade or DIY. Most of the range
is available for delivery throughout the UK and for export worldwide. As a part
of the service, materials can be fabricated, or machined, to customer requirements.
We do not compromise upon service, even though we aim to offer some of the UK's
